The fuzzy late winter catkins of Salix discolor are something we look forward to each year. Pussy Willows are multi-stemmed shrubs, growing 6 to 15 feet tall and 4 to 12 feet wide. They prefer full sun to part shade and medium to wet soils.
Ideal for wetland areas and streambank stabilization, the Pussy Willow is a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly landscapes and supports native ecosystems.
