Coreopsis tripteris / Tall Tickseed

Let's hear it for late bloomers and long bloomers - both of which can describe Coreopsis tripteris, aka Tall Coreopsis or Tall Tickseed. Growing up to 7 feet tall on solid stems with handsome leaves that split into three lanceolate segments, Coreopsis tripteris blooms from late Summer through Autumn in light, bright bursts of yellow. Highly adaptable to a variety of disturbed or undisturbed soils, Tickseed is an easy to grow perennial that will continue to spread and form colorful colonies in garden beds or meadows. Plant in full sun in dry to medium, well-drained soils.
