Populus deltoides x P. nigra / Hybrid Poplar

This Hybrid Poplar is a cross between the North American Populus deltoides / Eastern Cottonwood and the European and North African Populis nigra / Black Poplar. The result of this cross is a tree that grows incredibly fast - up to nine feet per year. Typically they reach 40 - 60 feet tall with a crown width of 20-35 feet. Plant Hybrid Poplars in moist soils. A row of them can provide a great windbreak or natural privacy screen.
