The Chester blackberry is a popular variety of blackberry known for its large, sweet fruits that ripen in late summer. This thornless, semi-erect cultivar is highly prized for its ability to produce high yields of juicy berries, which are excellent for both fresh eating and culinary uses such as jams and desserts. Self-fertile and bears fruit on 2nd year canes - for pruning advice, we recommend The Pruning Book by Lee Reich.
