Symphyotrichum patens / Late Purple Aster

Symphyotrichum patens features blue to violet flowers with yellow centers. Plants grow 2 to 3 feet tall with a 1.5 to 2 foot spread.

Plant in full sun to part shade in dry to medium soils. Asters are great late-season nectary plants, feeding pollinators after many of the common summer flowers are gone.
