Zizia aurea / Golden Alexander
Zizia aurea / Golden Alexander
Golden Alexander is a reliable native perennial with an array of uses, not to mention its important role in providing nectar for pollinators and as a host for some butterfly species, such as the black swallowtail. Bright yellow flowers bloom in late spring and the seeds self sow easily, which is necessary in the garden as Golden Alexander is short-lived. Adaptable to most soils as long as they’re not too dry or not too moist and grows well in full sun or part shade.
